§ 12.7. Banners.

  • The term banner shall also refer to temporary feather signs or flags which are mounted on a temporary support post.

    A.

    Banners shall be permitted in nonresidential zoning districts and conditional uses in residential districts subject to the approval of a banner permit issued by the zoning enforcement officer and subject to the following criteria:

    1.

    Banners and/or feather flags not in excess of 32 square feet in area (cumulative) to be attached to the building facade or to a permanent sign or placed in the ground, must be located out of right-of-way or at least ten feet from the back of the curb or edge of pavement of the adjacent street, whichever is greater.

    a.

    A banner permit may be issued for each occurrence not to exceed two, 14-day periods and one, 21-day period per calendar year per establishment.

    b.

    Feather flags shall be limited to one flag per business and must be located out of right-of-way or at least ten feet from the back of the curb or edge of pavement of the adjacent street, whichever is greater. Feather flags shall be permitted for no more than two, 14-day periods and one, 21-day period each calendar year.
